Tom Prescott 1980 Denner Voice Flute with Corps de réchange

Based upon an original plumwood instrument in d' at a=415 in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nürnberg. Made in 1695, in 3 pieces, and with a length of 585mm. Collection ID: D-Nuremberg GNM Accession: MIR 208. Its head was stamped with I.C.Denner/D/1, but Haynes attributed to JD Denner instead of Johann Christoph.

Tom's replica, with a serial number of 709, is a d' instrument in both a=415 and 392, while the 392 also serves as a tenor. It requires a Hotteterre fingering. Tom had it revoiced back in 2002. I got it from Charles Fischer and was thankful that he taught me the correct fingerings before letting me go.

This is not an easy instrument to learn or master, but the rewards are tremendous. Originally made for John Tyson (an assciate of the Boston Camerata) in 1980/3/4, then was sold to Charles Fischer 2002/6/7, now it is in my possession since 2004/9/17. This is Tom's first voice flute.
