Today I finished putting the dumpster special back together, after cleaning all the parts, plus fixing some broken key levers, fixing the broken lid, fixing the buff stop lever, and the buff batten, and ...well, you get the picture. Home Depot is the greatest. Still more work to be done, but I decide to go ahead and start stringing, just so to see if it is worth repairing. It was a chore, having to pull half of the hitch pins and hammer them back to correct positions. I did save up the jacks for testing, and happily reported that the instrument sounds ok.
It looks like a beaten up instrument in a church attic now, instead of being a dumpster special...that's an upgrade
I strung all the bronze wires, so far so good
