Harpsichord - $240 (Bainbridge Island)

   This is an ottavino spinet harpsichord. Ottavino means it is tuned an
   octave above normal pitch; spinet means the strings run at an angle to
   the keyboard, making a more compact instrument. And it is very compact
   indeed, only about 27 inches long, weighing less than 20 pounds in its
   carrying case. It is quite literally a laptop harpsichord.
   It is from a kit supplied by the Early Music Shop in England. This
   same kit is now supplied by the Renaissance Workshop Company.
   It is not currently in playable condition (hence the ridiculously low
   price). It needs to be completely re-quilled (and this could be a
   major undertaking, as re-quilling a miniature instrument like this is
   VERY fussy work). So it might better be described as a harpsichord
   project rather than a harpsichord. It comes with a case as shown, plus
   a tuning hammer and many spare parts, including enough wire to
   completely re-string it, a second set of jacks, plastic plectra,
   damper felt, etc.
